Where do your tyres end up?
As a company we recognise the environmental impact that improper disposal of tyres and other car parts can have on the planet. That’s why at both Marlow Tyres and Maidenhead Tyres and Autocare we ensure that your old tyres are repurposed for a new life off the road. Our friends over at Pyrite Industries invest in repurposing your tyres into usable rubber chippings for horse arena and playground surfaces. The metal is stripped from the tyres and the rubber then shredded in compliance with the PAS107 environmental standard.
What about your engine oil?
Here at Maidenhead Tyres and Autocare we empty around 650 litres of oil from our customer’s engines each month. That’s nearly 8000 litres each year! We work very closely with ENVA Reclaimed Oils who help us dispose of this waste in the most sustainable way, preventing contaminants from polluting the environment. As well as your dirty engine oil, your worn-out metal car parts are recycled, melted down and then reused to produce new products or even new car parts!
So here at Marlow and Maidenhead Tyres and Autocare, we don’t just keep your vehicles running as smoothly as possible, we also aim to do our bit to keep the planet spinning and try to prevent global warming.
Following our Company ethos of continually striving to improve not only the service to our customers, but also to the environment, both Marlow Tyres and Maidenhead Tyres and Autocare are currently undergoing stricter waste management minimization. Measures are currently being developed to aid us reduce the amount of paper we use on a day-to-day basis. As well as this, the introduction of Electric cars into the wider market will help us reduce waste engine oil and many metal parts we currently see on our cars.
