About

HISTORY
The business was established in 1959 by Sidney Hendry - near the trading estate on the Farnham Road in Slough.

In 1965 the company expanded and acquired a site in Maidenhead next to the railway station (where the Cincom building now stands).

Larger premises were required for the Maidenhead site in 1988 when the depot moved to its current purpose built location in Grenfell Road.

In 2001 the company acquired Slough Exhausts - which was merged with Slough Tyres.

More recently, the company has been invited by a number of large prestigious car dealerships to run their tyre sales operation as part of their in-house servicing.

The business, now run by Sidney Hendry’s son, Robert, has grown to become one of the largest independent retailers in the South. The company has been able to achieve sustained growth because it has always remained a family-run, independent company.

COMPANY AIMS
The company’s aim remains the same today as it did when it started over 40 years ago:

To provide the customer with an honest, quality service at a competitive price

To meet our aims we know we must have excellent stock availability. It does this by

  • Holding, on average, 10 times more stock than a national tyre and exhaust chain holds at one of its depots.
  • Buying the right stock when we want, from where we want (both UK and abroad) – we are not tied to contracts to buy stock from stipulated suppliers.
  • Building up long term relationships with suppliers so that if we do not have the product you require in stock – we can usually source it the same day.

The company also works hard to ensure a low turnover of staff.

Experience in the tyre and exhaust industry is essential to be able to provide a professional and personal service that only an independent company can offer.
